Sales Associate Position:
- 35 hours
- Currently Tue - Sat 9.30 to 5.00pm (may be subject to change)
- Location - Fishers 9 John Street Penicuik EH26 8HN
- Pay range: £19,750.00 - £26,000.00 per year depending on skills and experience.

We are located in the busy Midlothian town of Penicuik just 10 minutes from the Edinburgh City bypass.
The Role
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. This role combines hands on retail work with supporting our online sales operation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys fishing, retail, and digital commerce.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service in store, over the phone, and online
- Assist customers with fishing tackle, bait, rods, reels, clothing, and accessories
- Process sales transactions and handle cash/card payments
- Maintain attractive product displays and shop presentation
- Receive, check, and organise deliveries and stock
- Help maintain accurate inventory levels
- Stay up to date with fishing products, trends, and seasonal ranges
- Contribute ideas for promotions, content, and customer engagement
Support e-commerce operations including:
- Picking and packing online orders
- Updating product listings
- Assisting with stock management
- Responding to customer enquiries via email and social media
Ideal Candidate
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Interest or knowledge of fishing and tackle/equipment is required
- Comfortable using computers, tills, and online systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to multitask in a busy environment
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn
- Ability to lift and move stock when required
Desirable Skills
- Experience with e-commerce platforms
- Social media or content creation experience
- Knowledge of major fishing brands and techniques
- Full UK driving licence
